When flushing the toilet, the flapper ball does not close into the valve because air and water are coming back through the valve. What could be causing this problem? I have already replaced the flapper ball. Please help!

If you mean that air and water are coming back up though the drain in the bottom of the tank than you do have a problem more serious than a repair kit can address. First a disclaimer, I'm not a plumber but it sounds like you have an obstruction between the tank and the bowl. Can you fit a plunger in there and try to push water through?? If not it might be time to call that plumber.

You can just buy a whole kit from the store. Sure its a little more expensive but it saves you the trouble from having to play Bob Vila with the Toilet and just replace all the business.

TO CONNECT THE FLAPPER, SOMETIMES YOU NEED SCISSORS TO MAKE THE 2 "EARS" INDEPENDENT, THIS MAKES IT EASIER TO OPEN AND CLOSE.
