I've found that God doesn't have an origin or a beginning, he was just always there.
Also, I believe the big bang did happen, just because of the evidence about how all the galaxies are moving farther and farther apart, and I do believe that scientists have a very credible theory about one tiny ball of matter exploding into absolutely everything...
...the only point where I'd differ on this is where that tiny ball of matter came from. I haven't heard a satisfactory explanation, other than an eternal creator God put it there to make everything. And then I believe I've seen God work some pretty amazing things in this world, things you can't see unless you are looking for them, and sometimes, only if you ask for them. Little miracles, I call them; that help make the quality of life on earth outstanding.

The Christian God comes from the same place the first nations spirits come, and the animal headed Gods of ancient Egypt. A desire to explain the world, for some they need a god or gods(my preference) to explain the world to them. To many scientists the function is fulfilled with Quantum Mechanics or M-theory .
Who's right ?Who cares? The universe is a large and diverse system, that runs in balance. Your personal beliefs are based on what you want or need, and are very personal.
More wars have been fought over this question than just about any other reason.
For the Christians who are thinking 2000 years of a religion must mean its right. Egypt worshipped the same pantheon of gods for at least as long.
cheers

God is what man needs to function. Man is the schizophrenic of nature.
For example, think of a dog, or monkey, or dolphin, or an ant. They all work off a simple program, Eat, reproduce and survive. Out side of this they are wasting there time. Humans on he other hand are not programed that way. We can do things out of will and destroy our selves in a conscious act. We are flipping nuts compared to everything on the rest of this Earth.
If man was created by a God. It would make sense to why man is so different from EVERY living thing on this rock. It the only "logical" explanation to why man differs than everything else on this planet. That's where God comes from. If he is real, well. That's up to each and everyone one of to decide.

If your looking for a religious answer according to Cristian doctrine GOD was is and will always be. Now if your looking for a fundamental Scientific answer lets take a look at the history of the universe.
Running off the standard Big Bang theory GOD would have had to be created with the universe. Which doesn't technically go against Christianity as before the universe the was nothing. Or you could look at Quantum Theory and say that the universe was created in the big bang and that our universe was the result of something happening in another universe which we erupted from. It only gets more confusing. That means that GOD could be simply an alien from another universe who is able to build and create wonderful things due to the nature of that universe.
In reality I believe that GOD is the manifestation of mans insecurities towards the lack of understanding how our universe works. Ignorance and mystery cause fear. and when you break down almost all major religions to a base system they are almost all alike. Simple rules like treat each other well and be friendly. Stuff like that.
As with the Christian view again GOD created man in his own image. So looking at mankind and the horrible crap we do to each other if GOD does exist I'm hoping he, she or it is nothing like us.....

I honestly think god was created by the human mind to give people something to believe in, or a false hope. I also think some people were looking for answers and when they couldn't find any they made up some explainations of their own.

I believe that humans need to believe in a higher power. to have some organization in life- some cohesiveness to other humans, and religion is a way to find that cohesiveness. Belief in a higher power unifies people who would otherwise have no connection. So, God (higher power of choice) is a construct of humanity, an explanation of our existence, a justification of our unity.

I don't know where God is from, but Iwhat I do find ridiculous is that in times of war that both sides ask God to bless their army. Do they really think that the other side is not blessed by God. I don't get it. What would you do?

God is the Alpha and the Omega...He was always here in the universe...He has no beginning and no end....Time has no beginning and no end...we don't understand all aspects of time but we do believe it is present...so is God,you simply can't understand all aspects of God...He is infinite.

God simply always was and is.The reason some don't believe there's a God, is because the can't except there's something greater than themselves.
