what kind of oil should i use in a 88 f-250?

Stay with what brought you. There are many high mileage oils avaiable you could use one of those ask your auto parts provider. Or look in that old cursty owners manual. Not knowing what engine that twenty year old truck has? Castrol High mileage 20 wt x 40 wt

the cheapest stuff i could find,i wouldent spend anymore money than i had to on the heap,it,s an 88 fer cryin out loud,im amazed it still runs(being a ford and all) just fill it with STP or some other tune up in a can, and say your prayers at night

a ford dealer could tell you the right oil for your climate- i suggest a quality 15 w 40 ,such as castrol and a motorcraft
oil filter every 3 to 5 k, depending on how you drive-the harder- the less miles between,etc.

if its got a lot of miles on it id consider going with a good synthetic oil in it,its designed for higher mileage cars and trucks and will help the engine last a lot longer in it,it also helps with gas mileage a small percent and will help the engine last a lot longer i have switched to it and a lot of my customers have also,so far none of us have had any problems with it,it does what it says it will,and that's worth the cost of it,10-w-30 would be a good weight to run in it,good luck with it.

if its gas, 10w30 valvoline if a diesel use 15w40 rotella.
