I'm 17 and I don't really like it, because you "must be 18 years or older" to do everything, and I'm so close!

I'm 17, but I don't like it because adults refer to me as a child even though I have acted as an adult ever since I was 15, and will not listen to me. Also, I hate the fact that I have to be 18 to work at most jobs.

That changes soon.

19.

17 was great for me. Not saying that as in, "HEY! 17 was great for me so it's great for you too!" But I'm just saying, that sucks that it's not good for you too. I'm sorry. 18 holds a lot of responsibility and pressure. Yeah, a lot of fun too because then you can do pretty much everything, but you'll realize the second you turn 18 that everything you want to do (ex. go to a club) can only be enhanced by being 21 (aka drinking) which you won't be for another 3 years. So it really sucks. I'm 19 now and you asked if I liked it... I do. I'm not saying all this to get Best Answer. Which I usually would be doing. I'm really not. I'm saying this because it's the truth. Take your time and grow up slowly. Once you turn 18 you'll miss the simple pleasures of being under 18. Whether imediately or slowly, you will. I did pretty soon after, but it comes to each of us differently.

Good luck to you. Hope your year improves.

I am 23, I love it! I'm old enough to have fun yet young enough to get away with having fun ;) I loved being 17 though, had a lot of good things happen and lots of firsts. Good times! Just enjoy it while it lasts cause this is your last year you can enjoy being a kid and still have it brushed off as ignorance! After that it is all on your own shoulders!

I was born at home in a little Texas town during WW II. Because of serious dysfunctionalism in the family, I am half-way surprized to be here. My two older brothers didn't make it to 50 &/or 60. I am glad to have survived the self-destructive first half of my life. Yes, I'm ok with my age, seeing that there are no options. With age, I become freer, higher, clearer and happier. It was my 40s that had me wringing my hands! J'ai soixante-deux ans.

I'm 54, and whereas I'd like to drop back a few years, I wouldn't change any part of my life at any time. When I was 17, we had to be 21 or older to do everything, so count your blessings.

I'm 75 and I love it. Just wish my body worked a little better. Being old is great tho. I really don't care what other peoples opinions are of me as long as I feel I'm doing my best. Good luck in your life.
