you won't get ripped off, however, you won't necessarily get a 'metziah' (bargain, a deal). if you don't know anything about diamonds, it's not the way to learn. you can browse, and ask questions. you can look and see if there is anything you like, and what it is that you like.

if you know anything about diamonds, or know anyone who does, it can be a great place to shop, since there is an amazing variety of styles in the many stores, all clustered together.

security is high, so, please, dress nicely, as if you are going to be spending some serious money, and can afford to do it. it WILL get you somewhat better service.

You certainly can! Best thing to do is go in where people are trying to sell their rings / diamonds back. Many times they get a few prices before they sell so when someone gets a price but doesn't sell stop them on the way out and tell them you'll pay 5% more than the highest bidder so long as that bid is within your budget. Then follow them into a couple more to make sure they don't cheat and buy it off of them. You will never get a diamond cheaper and it is worth the time (2-3 hours?) if you are buying an expensive one.

To get the best deal arm yourself with information.

Go to bluenile or another online store and search for diamonds and learn the 4 C's.

If a deal is to good to be true, it probably isn't. Make sure you can return it within 30 days. You may want it GIA certified, and make sure certificate is less than 1 year old.

I agree with Michael. There are a ton of great jewelers in Paramus, NJ where you can really get a deal. Buying off 47th Street can be a little shady... I wouldn't trust it for something that important. My fiance got my ring in Paramus and it is gorgeous!

i'm from the era till now yours, till now the call variety grew to become extra significant than the article itself. And for us, the bigger the hoop, and the extra it shone, the extra helpful we enjoyed it. Tiffany's replaced right into a save in ny, and somewhat blue field replaced into for terribly wealthy people. it may be as much as what your bride needs, sound her out your self, or get you MIL to do it. A prevalent question from her like: so while enable's flow peo asks some ring for you, and he will ask, what do I tell him? Tiffany's, or the biggest ring he can arise with the money for from somebody else? If she hides that question in with different questions some ring, like what steel and what shape of diamond does she desire, she'll under no circumstances recognize approximately your variety call predicament, till you tell her. maximum individuals say for someone to get the decrease and the colour the bride needs, and do the final you are able to related to the scale of the diamond and it is readability. There are 4 "C" s via the way, colour being the fourth. maximum jewelers would desire to tell you that a tiny flaws basically isn't discernible, and it will decrease the fee of the diamond. i'm sorry, yet $7, 000 at Tiffany's won't get you lots. flow out and value. flow to a sequence rings save or 2, and notice what the charges are interior the situations. while they ask in the event that they'd assist you, say no, you're basically placing out to seek for a ring. Then flow to the diamond district and notice what they'd do. Then flow to Tiffany's, and ask some questions. And try this till now you positioned mom in equipment to ask her daughter. you would be waiting to respond to your question your self. individually, provide me a 14 carat gold placing with no longer a great variety of ornamentation on it, and positioned a a million/2 carat around decrease white basically approximately appropriate diamond in it, and positioned one small reliable diamond on the two factor of the huge one. do no longer care the place it comes from, in the event that they sell one like that at Wal-mart, superb. positioned a Tiffany blue ribbon around it in case you like.
