Honestly folks.. Are we down to running contests as to which side is LESS corrupt? Who has accepted less bribes, has the most 'known' phedophiles. Is there anyone here who believes that there aren't any Democrats on the D.C. Madams list? Seriously, is this what our own politicians have reduced us to?

Here's a great example of how we're having to defend ourselves. I have to confess that I looked at this and actually laughed.

Doesn't this prove that we have a whole lot of elected 'scum'?

Look at some of the lists from BOTH sides.. :)

It's time to clean house and start over. Don't you think?

avail_skillz, that's not the point. The point is that we have as much corruption on one side as we do the other. They're all alike.

Suthrnlyts I get many chuckles from some of these posts. Others dismay me. Everyone has to know there is corruption and bad judgement in both arenas.

It has been said that a society that no longer laughs, soon can only cry. Corruption is not a party specific thing and both parties are guilty of shameless acts of contempt. Our job as voters is to hold them accountable regardless of their party. I vote Republican slightly more often than Democrat but have little faith or respect left for either party. Ted Kennedy should have been disbarred in the 60's for the Chappaquidick incident but then some of the good things he has done would not have happened in the senate. Conversely some other bad things would not have occured either by the senate under his influence. A human traight is to err sometimes so no person will ever be perfect by the majorities standards. Today however we have an over abundance of greedy and morally challenged theives in elected office stealing away our country and freedoms. The powers that be could care less about the party of a candidate. They will help elect the candidate that offers them the most allegiance.

AMEN!

I do like coming on here and reading the things SOME people write that is totally off the wall as if there is someone out there that actually believes them. I mostly get a kick out of the ones who are dead set on downing Bush when they know he's gone in less than two years. I mean really, how mental can they get. They should be setting their goals on the up and coming elections.

You go girl, you know you're stuff. There's not much we can do about the political corruption but sit back and have a good laugh, I know I do.

There was a great quote from a local journalist in New Orleans, during the Katrina mess, and all the attendant finger pointing, when he said: " The people of New Orleans don't tolerate corruption in their politicians, they demand it." Looks to me like they're right in step with the rest of the country.

I agree that we have to laugh at some of this. So many have lost a sense of civility and respect for each other and those with differing opinions.

And I would love to be able to "throw the bums out" but there is a problem with that. A whole Congress made up of people who don't really know how the system works would make any progress we could have come to a grinding hault while they take some time to learn how our government really works, and that scares me. Not all of them are bums - we just have to figure out who is and who's not.

Agree 100%

These elections have become more about voting AGAINST someone rather than FOR someone.

Yes, it's time to take out the trash. Career politicians have proved to be no good on both sides.

You would think the attack would be more politican focused than partisan amongst the public

But then maybe all the posts aren't from the public -

I somtimes am far too serious for my own good - but I get a good laugh out of all our "public servants"

It's a great american tradition! The muck raking before the elections. It happens every four years.

exactly!

I am so tired of hearing about one scandal after another. Why do these people think they are above the law? Neither "side" is better than the other!

and you're are going to use another question which sites no sources and in many cases doesn't even give names, as a credible reference?
I think it is time, for you to start thinking more critically.

I must say the "But But But... the other side might be doing it to!" is always a grown up sounding argument. /end sarcasm
