I suppose it would be possible, but highly unlikely. For that to happen, two unlikely events would have to occur.
A) Two separate eggs would have to be fertilized by two different sperm at one time.
B) One of those fertilized eggs would have to split in two and begin developing two fetuses.
And - all three fertilized eggs would have to successfully implant in the whomb.

yes. The identical twins would be from a split egg and the triplet would be from a separate Fertilization that occurred on the same day or within a few days of the first fertilization.
Fraternal twins or triplets ect... can have multiple fathers as well. A woman can be pregnant by 2 men at the same time.

Yes someone can have triplets and have two identical and one not.
Identical twins occur when an egg is fertilised by a sperm, and during the normal division of cells which takes place splits into two, thus there are to embryos with the same genes, and are thus identical.
Fraternal (or non identical twins) occur when there are two eggs released at the same time, thus two different eggs are fertilised by two different sperm, thus the two embryos have different genes and are not identical.
In the case of a set of triplets where two are identical and one is not, there would have been two eggs which were released and subsequently fertilised, and one of those resulting embryos has split into two, resulting in three embryos, which would give two identical twins and a fraternal twin.

Yes. The 2 identical twins are the result of a fertilized egg splitting into 2 and the third the result of another separate fertilized egg. It is quit possible but probably not that common as I don't think releasing 2 eggs is that common. It would be more common to have 3 identically twins derived from one fertilized egg splitting into 3.

Yes, that does occur. It is a result of two eggs being released and fertilized, resulting in twins. Then, one of those eggs divides resulting in identical twins. The other egg did not split, so there are three babies from the two eggs-a set of identical twins and a third triplet.

YES!
I am actually friends with a group of triplets. Two of the girls look EXACTLY alike, and the other girl looks WAY different.
We all go to youth group together. And people often think they're all sisters, but only two of them are twins. And when we tell them that they are all triplets, they almost don't believe us. It's pretty weird!
Awesome question, Joey!

My cousin has triplets. 2 are identical and one is fraternal. So two eggs were fertilized and one of them split into identical twins.

Yep - a friend of my mom's used IVF to get pregnant the second time and they only implanted 2 embryos but when they went in for their ultrasound there were three babies so it's entirely possible! A little more uncommon but not unheard of!
