NO! 2 Timothy chapter 3. MAN WILL GET WORSE AND WORSE. Self destructive ways.
Habakkuk 2
For the revelation awaits and appointed time
it speaks of the end and will not prove false
Though it linger, wait for it;it will certainly come and will not delay.

World peace is a state of mind and being. The world may have wars in different countries, but daily you are able to see peace as well. World peace is how you view the world around you. If you look back through time and History, peace has always been a selective issue and way of life. It has been wars since the beginning of time as well as peace.
I do not know your friend, but if he wants world peace and is willing to attempt accomplishing is goal, support his decision. At least he is willing to try, and also believe in his dream.
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream and depending on how you view it, I feel his dream came true. His dream was for people of all color to coexist together. The same opportunities to be offered and obtainable to all. We have all races in the senate, congress and even throughout the white house's administration. We have many different races throughout schools, as well as the world.
Just look at our own Nation. We have the freedom of choice, religion, friends. We also have the choice to marry who we choose no matter the race or religion. It's not all perfect, and yes we still have more to accomplish, but it's all a part of his dream and it has come true. His life/death was not in vain, just the beginning.
Great Question!

World peace would mean that EVERYONE and EVERY NATION would have to find true inner peace and contentment without monetary strings. Money is indeed the root of evil, and until money is shared equally amongst all, there will not be total peace. We can promote it passionately in our own little circles of the world, and hope for the best - but unfortunately many corporations spanning the globe are more interested in pleasing their stockholders than their responsibility to help spread the wealth. And majority stockholders will never consider mercy on those less fortunate. The future is gray, but the potential goodness begins with us.

the two way to accomplish world peace is
1. to eliminate organized religion. This causes more wars than anything else in human history. If we could all accept that we have a personal belief in a higher power, and not try to force our beliefs on others ( even peacefully ie. the people that knock on your door on saturday morning...they are nice, but annoying) this would be a BIG step in the right direction. Do not give big churches money. Alot of these funds historically have been sent to fund killing people with different beliefs.
2. Making an international maximum wage. $200,000.00. This would take the motive away from wealth addicts, who's only motivation is more money, no matter who it hurts. These people have caused much harm in the world. Starvation, homelessness, debt...are some of the main reasons people commit crimes/ murder. We need to spread the wealth more evenly, people all deserve to be able to survive with dignity.

I don't think world peace is a bad concept, it is just getting all the warring factions to stop killing one another to agree that seems to be the problem. And your friend...he isn't the first and most certainly won't be the last person to promote peace.

I think it is possible but we are a long way from it. The healing needs to start first with each individual working on their issues and taking responsibility for them. I would like to see more of that in this lifetime.
