I'm afraid so. By then, too many members of congress will be on board to overturn a presidential veto and President Bush is committed to the results of the current surge in troops. If there is no factual good results there will be no other choice but to withdrawl.
Now that's to say that some troops will come home, but I imagine that a good portion of troops will withdrawl to Afghanistan.

Revolutionary changes are typically the most socially, govern mentally, and militarily unsettling sort of things. I highly doubt that a change from one extreme to another is going to help. Nonetheless, the problem seems to be due to an uncaring world, that doesn't care if Iraq erupts into civil war and years of oppression. One wonders if general genocide occurs if the UN will even have the willpower to assist in basic ways. It makes you wonder if Europe is just smugly letting the US wallow in its own inability to win. Or if we can have victory. On the other hand, the percentage of Baghdad controlled has been rising steadily, so, there could still be hope.

Did you ever stop for a minute and think that maybe Al-Queda was actually just a organization that was made up by the top leaders of our goverment as a way to scare the american people into thinking that they need protection from them, the very people who are causing the problems?
Hmmm.... reminds me of that movie, Baron Von Munchausen?
And the reason nobody will be coming home anytime soon is simple, if you look at it closer.
Companies like General Electric, Boeing, Lockheed/Martin, etc... are some of the biggest Defense contractors in the world. They employ thousands of people. No war, no money, no money, no jobs, no jobs, no economy, no economy, no jobs for even more, on and on, down the ladder.
As for Osama, with the ties his family has to the current administration, you can forget EVER finding him! Remember, on 911 when all air traffic worldwide was shut down? On that day our so-called Pres. was flying members of the Bin Laden family out, yes, out of the U.S. for our, no wait, their protection!?
The United States government created Osama Bin Laden. He was a CIA asset!
He was trained and funded by The CIA.
He was put into power by The CIA and he had/has substantial financial ties to the current administration.

I hate to say it but if we prematurely withdraw from Iraq, we are going to have serious problems abroad and at home as the result. Let's face it, we are in a long drawn out war against the Islamist radicals. Our way of life is precisely what the Islamist use against us. Our constitution designed to provide us with the freedom we enjoy also provides the Islamists the means to hurt us.

That bill will never become law. Even if the senate passes it, which it won't, the president will never sign it. It did not pass by a two-thirds margin, so there's nothing they can do.

Anyway, it would not create a "peaceful solution" by any definition. It would result in a genocide possibly followed by a war in the middle east.

Withdrawing the troops will do nothing but destablize the region further and undo everything we've done in Iraq. Not to mention make the deaths of every US soldier in Iraq a complete and utter waste.

If we withdraw from Iraq, how long until al-Qaida takes control of Iraq? Then we'll have two terrorist states over there (Iraq and Iran), both with a pathological hatred of America.

Wont work. They don't have enough votes for a veto.

As it gets closer to election time and Bushes rating is sub 10% and the approval rating for congress is sub 5% then you might see enough republicans come across to over ride the veto. I just can't believe anything is going to change in the next 6 months.

it will not work they do not have the authority to withdraw anything but a check...every week and they just wasted your money on a political message that serves nothing but window dressing....
