Try a system restore to the date when everything was OK.

im wondering why all these people are telling you to do system restore when you cant access programs without the start button.if you have a recovery disk try that and use the repair option.otherwise you will lose all your data.if you dont have one the only option i know is to reload windows...good luck

if the system restore doenst work for you ,get out your xpinstall disk , and reboot with it in the computer, , and run a windows repair..

well whats seems to be happing is that the program in windows that display that is nto running or has stopped runing so u need to first scan for spyware with spybot seaarch and destroy and seconded stop and restart explorer.exe

run it in safe mode if that doesnt work then do a system restore.

restart it first and see what happen. and then clean up your memory. pull it out then insert it again
