The fact is that if you are annoyed by religion, you should not go to any university with a religious mission. Even the least devout of them will bother you, because they DO follow their religions. Most Catholic schools are not anti-partying (in fact, some are known as party schools, since the Church does NOT ban alcohol), but you do need to be respectful of the school's right to follow the tenets of their own religion. There are, of course, some religious schools where you do need to follow the strictest principles of the religion in question (Bob Jones University, for example), but at ANY religious school, you need to defer to their right to practice the religion upon which the school was founded.

About Sacred Heart itself, its website doesn't immediately mark it as being extremely pious in its approach, and there are things on there about Christian-Jewish dialogue which leave me to believe that they aren't extreme. However, they are located in Fairfield, CT., and there is a Jesuit school, Fairfield University, in the same town. Since Jesuit schools are usually the least observant of the Catholic schools, I would imagine that Sacred Heart might need to distinguish itself by being more observant. Just a thought...
