Am the only one that thinks the Yankees on WPIX with Murcer and Rizzuto, were the good times?

I agree, Koreaguy12. It is ironic because WPIX was the flagship station for the Yankees and WWOR was the flagship station for the Mets games.

Murcer and Rizzuto were good together. Rizzuto, White and Messer were better. But I REALLY got spoiled when I was a kid. Mel Allen, Red Barber, Phil Rizzuto and Jerry Coleman were the announcers. But the games on WPIX, regardless of who did the talking, were just better. Takes you back when you think about stuff like this!

I'm not a Yankee fan, but does anyone else find it ironic that the Mets are on WPIX 11 and the Yankees are on Channel 9?

Very fond times indeed, 1977-1981 sitting in my room, on my bed, watching the Yankees on my little black and white TV that I saved up for - $75 was a lot of money for a 14 year old with a paper route!
It was Rizzuto and White back then though - I think they made a pretty good team.

I was hoping rthe Yanks and philies would get into the Series, with Rizzuto and Saam doing play by play, NO ONE would have a clue what;s going on.

I am a die hard red sox fan and I hate the yanks but scooter was a great announcer.

Phil and bill white were great baseball.
