For each of us it is defined by what we spend it on - and the purposes we pursue. For many these are merely what they've been taught. For the more aware they are what we choose, within the the options we have available - or make available. For a mass of humanity it may be merely to survive.

Pretty open question in many ways. Life is a word, and it is defined as, basically, what you are doing right now, living, but if you mean, what is the religious meaning of life, or what was the native American meaning of life, we might be able to go a little farther. It really depends upon what tradition you are asking about. For instance, What is the modern American meaning of life: success with lots of bucks, or being the complete capitalist.I personally see the meaning of 'life' as the definition of a word that can be used in various ways in statements and questions. Some would say that it is to live until you die, and some would say that it is a place where God judges you on what you think and do, so as to decide whether you are going to heaven or hell. There are as many answers as there are ways to look at the question.

The meaning of life is different for all people. For some life is all about money, others it's power, and for others it's love. I personally think that the meaning of life is trying to find yourself in your own light and your own meaning to life. Life is very personal, and your meaning of life is just as personal.

The meaning of life is what you give it. For some, it is to save the less fortunate. For some, it is to get as much as they can for themselves. In the largest sense, there is a pull towards evolution, life tries to refine itself, adapt to changing conditions, better itself from previous generations. In the struggle of the fittest, the weak die off, the genetically strong go on to reproduce.
I think humans have mucked this up, especially in capitalist society. They seem to be making a big mess in the name of getting more, more, more and protecting what they have. Some stupid, short-sighted ones are tipping the balance and pulling our species down making life for some a living hell.

Life and existence are subjective concepts as Kierkegaard, the Danish philosopher explained.
You are the artist of the meaning of your life. It is your creativity which defines meaning for it.

Life is about going out of one's self in ecstatic or loving pursuit of the other. It is about humbling oneself before God and loving one's neighbor. Life finds it meaning when one contemplates the supreme object in existence. Aquinas had it right when he urged us to contemplate God, the highest good.
