There are natural thermostat processes in the Earth's atmosphere that prevent the solar energy fluctuations from drastically changing the overall temperature of the Earth. The atmosphere is the predominant thermostat and by adding certain molecules to it we increase break the regulator and cause the temperature to rise as global warming.
