I am consistently a witch, and not just on Halloween.
But seriously, one time I put on my funkiest outfit, cloddy boots I borrowed from my honey, a sunbonnet and apron, held a corncob pipe between my teeth, and went as "Mountain Granny." I did in fact live in mountains at that time: the Santa Cruz Mountains of central California. But people don't really dress like that there.
Guess what was in the corncob pipe? LOL

The coolest costumes are from current headlines. We have been Diana and her driver and JFK and Jackie, I think a good one would be Paris in a striped prison type suit,Michael Richards with a Black Power T-shirt or I.Washington wearing a KKK T-shirt. Oh, and Mel Gibson wearing a yarmulke.

Last year I went as "Smartie Pants".
I glued smarties all over my pants and wore them.
I made a bubble wrap purse with smarties in the bubbles for an accessory and a snack.
Another one I've heard is to wear a blue shirt. Get some cotton balls and attach them randomly on the shirt. Then get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Wear the shirt and carry the bottle. Then ask people to guess what you are. Tell them as you spray them with the bottle of water, that you are partly cloudy with a chance of showers.

Well, my brother was always tall. One Halloween, my mom died some cheap long underwear green and took hours cutting out leaves from green plastic trash bags and sewing them onto the long underwear. She used the leaves to make a hat for him and he went out as the Jolly Green Giant. It was excellent, though he tended to shed.

I dont like like.. "Store" costumes. Its cooler to make yours, so no one else will have the same one. Be creative.
