Either way you would be acting in an entirely human way, and since there is no hope for humanity, why do anything? Why not just contemplate your navel?

Best to change the World for the better. It eventually gives you a direct hope to enlightenment, truth, relationships and even God. Think of it as your inner self fighting for your outer life and home, rather than your outer self fighting people's inner life and home. You see it makes sense then.
