I lean Conservative (although I am pretty moderate) and I don't hate Obama at all. Between he, Hillary and Edwards I like Obama, by far, the best.
Of the 3, he would be the best at fighting the War on Terror and he is the only one, as you say, that would be willing to cross the aisle and make some progress. I think that Hillary and Edwards are just too polarizing.
Polarization between the parties is the number one problem in Washington right now. Too many people from opposite sides are not willing to negotiate. Democrats and Republicans spend so much time fighting eachother that they sometimes forget that we are all on the same team. Democrats and Republicans should not see eachother as enemies. We are all for America.
Sadly, I don't like the fact that he attended two years of a Muslim School as a child. I know that this is not very politically correct, but it scares me a little. For the record, I am not a religious person.
I wish that he had more experience as well. I don't really think that 2 years in the US Senate is enough. I wish that he had held some position as an executive instead of just a legislator.
I personally think that Obama is a GREAT GUY. I feel the same about Al Gore, and if Al Gore enters the race, I would almost guarantee victory for him.
I don't quite feel the same about Hillary, though.
Anyone who says, "He Sucks" is too extreme for you to pay attention to anyway.
In my opinion, the far right and the far left have both lost sight of the big picture.

I am an Independent. I vote for the candidate's experience and qualifications, and fitness for office. Baracka Hussein Obama is a fraud, who refuses or has failed to fully disclose all information re his "bargain" real estate deal with a currently indicted Chicago developer. Further, Osama Obama's Muslim / Islamic background and relationship has not been fully disclosed to the public by the left wing media. Obama is a good polly parrot, who rotely recites prepared speils and speech, however, comes up short when asked to explain what he just recited. Obama is inexperienced, and totally lacks substance, as we hear the same ole worn-out platitudes, " the need to put every American to work, the need for a national health care plan, and education reform". We have heard this unadulterated bullshit for the past 30 years, and the U.S. populace is one of the least educated, the national health care system is controlled by the criminal pharmaceutical cartels and the corrupt, ineffective American Medical Association, and the big health insurance companies. We all know the problems that confront this nation, and we need a strong, qualified, experienced leader, and that certainly eliminates Obama. Regarding the term,"hate", there are many different meanings in today's world, contingent upon who is using the term about whom. Example, left-wing socialists hate Bush, and right-wing conservatives hate the Clintons. Another aspect, if a Black hates a White, that is being an activist, but if a White hates a Black, that is being a racist.

those tea social gathering nuts frighten the hell out of me. i'm not exceedingly enamored with Obama, however the lack of expertise and racism that has been important at those tea events is disgusting and downright frightening. those nuts have shown as much as Obama city halls and rallies carrying loaded hearth palms, and those all of us is thoroughly oblivious to historic previous and what's rather happening in the worldwide. luckily, those nuts purely make up a small faction of the vote casting inhabitants, yet adequate to get loons like Michelle Bachman elected and supply Glen Beck the rankings he needs to stay on the air. while Bush became president, there became various animosity from liberals. regardless of the undeniable fact that it became reflective of coverage, not paranoia. They hated Bush for what he DID, not what they theory might happen. that's the version. Conservatives are offended over the bailout, deficits and such. and that they have a great to be. yet the place have been those tea partiers while Bush became in place of work racking up checklist deficits, and it became he who became president while the bailout handed. the place's the outcry over that? fairly, those ignorant loons overlook approximately actuality and blame Obama through fact of their partisan and racial bigotry.

You don't know Obama very well. He definitely is not
"quite moderate".
He is definitely a socialist
He has a shady background
He voted against English as being US language
He voted to concede the war to terrorists as a
good Muslim would do
He is a left-wing liberal
He does not have enough experience for the job
He is rich (which you libs seem to hate)
I personally do not hate him, but I also do not want
a Muslim as head of the United States of America.

Yeah, you'd think that if you spent too much time watching the news, but I'm a Goldwater conservative, and I'd vote for him.
The media is still trying to divide this country - there's a lot of money to be made in political controversy. Like, they say the Democrats are trying to hold up the war, but there's not a Republican in town that would vote for the war if they thought it would pass.
And with a 26% approval rating, Bush has lost the support of more than half of the Republican voters in this country.
it's not Republicans and conservatives that are down on Obama, it's just that the news guys smell a fight, and they want a lot of air time for it. They're making it all up again.

As a democrat, I will not vote for someone with as little foreign policy experience as he has. Come back in four years when i know he can work with overseas issues effectively.
Hillary won't get my vote either, but that wasn't the question.

I don't hate Obama, but I don't want someone that liberal as our president. I think we need a strong leader who is not going to sell out our country as did Clinton & Bush.
We need someone with guts. Someone that will take on evil in the world when it knocks on our door(Bush got that right) Clinton passed on Bin Laden when he had him. Obama seems to be an appeaser. Well, appeasers messed up Europe in WWII. Appeasement does not work with enemies who want to kill you.
Besides Obama has radical left wing connections(his pastor). If this were a republican with radical right wing connections you'd never hear the end of it, but since it is a media darling liberal he gets a free pass. Nice!
He also has muslim roots. I don't hate muslims, but I think when our country is attacked numerous times and continues to be attacked(many have been foiled) by muslims, that we do not a muslim president. Maybe there will come a day when islamofacism is defeated but that day is not 2008.
Want more reasons?

He's not a moderate! He's more socialist than Hillary and she's a disaster.
I also would never vote for him because he lacks any experience.
One more thing, he's pro-amnesty! I will NEVER vote for a pro-amnesty candidate. That issue is a deal breaker for me!
Bottom line, socialist, newbie, pro-amnesty. That's it - no vote!

He's not moderate at all.
In fact, I remember reading somewhere that he is the most liberal senator right now.
And he is far too inexperienced to be President. Mark my words, Barack Obama would be a disaster.
