He seems to be the only one to disagree with the report. Why does Bush cherry pick the intelligence provided to him?

McKenzie..this is just the tip of the iceberg.. Bush knows exactly what is in the report and he's still denying it.. stay tuned .. The National Counterterrorism Center prepared the report. based on information from the CIA's director of intelligence.

He says they have more people, better communications, more money, and more desire.

President Bush on Thursday called the terror network a "serious threat to our homeland" but said Al Qaeda is weaker than it was prior to Sept. 11, 2001, when it struck a heavy blow on the United States.
"There is a perception in the coverage that Al Qaeda may be as strong today as they were prior to September the 11th. That's just simply not the case. I think the report will say since 2001, not prior to September the 11th, 2001," Bush told reporters, referencing a new threat assessment that says Al Qaeda has reconstituted itself to a level unseen since the months before Sept. 11, 2001.
"Because of the actions we've taken, Al Qaeda is weaker today than they would have been.

Because any well informed American (I don't mean the ones who believe everything they hear on the news types, ones who look up the facts to see if they're being lied to) knows that Bush has executive orders at hand waiting to be brought upon us to total police state dictatorship. We all knew he had the orders to invade Afghanistan 2days before 9/11, while at the same time massing troops around Afghanistan's borders for the prior couple of months.

If anything happens on US soil again, I'll know it wasn't Iran, "Al-CIAeda" or Osama (family friends with the Bush's) Bin Laden.

Larry Silverstein (owner of the WTC complex) also bought the Sears Tower. If something happens to that building and it becomes the 4th steel framed building to collapse from fire, I'll be armed n' ready to take back this country if I have to do it myself. I'm sick of the lies, and tired of the sheeple following blindly to whatever they're lead to believe. WAKE UP AND JOIN US IN THE NEW AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!!

I don't think it is that he rejects the premise that they are better positioned to strike, he only feels that we are safer now than we were on 9/11.
These two statements are not necessarily at odds with each other.
Chertoff is making scary statements because he wants Al-Qaida to know that he knows they are planning something, even if he isn't going to disclose the Intel that the spy organizations are gathering.
I don't normally come to Bush's defense, but we can be safer than we were before 9/11 even though Al-Qaida is planning an attack.
They certainly wouldn't have as easy a task as they had before, even though they may still attack. They just have to work harder now to accomplish their goals.
Terrorist "chatter" is at higher levels now than it was directly before 9/11.
Pretty Scary.

Are you kidding me? He desperately needs another attack. He thinks he will be vindicated and it will give him the excuse to do a lot of things like invading Iran, martial law, canceling the next elections etc. It's the only move that would help him politically.

Because, if he accepted it, it would mean admitting that he f*cked up by turning away from Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan and starting an unneccessary and manufactured war in Iraq, and in so doing made the United States of America less safe.

And that won't do.

Oh, no, that just won't do.

Because this man will not stand for any information that he does not like to hear or read, if it, in anyway, goes against the picture he is trying to paint for the American public. He wants us to believe that this just couldn't happen again & on his watch, so, it isn't correct! We are to believe that he has everything under control, not to worry folks! This is just misleading information that has no basis in truth. Want to bet?

Did it get released?

Last I heard some traitor either made up something about it or actually released some of the information.

If that's still the case, you're basing this on an anonymous source? That's kind of foolish.

In addition you're siding with that very same traitor.

Contemptible company you're keeping there.
