Female fly can lay as many as 2,700 eggs in 30 days but more commonly lay 350-900 in 5 or 6 different batches. Such eggs hatch in 6 to 24 hours and turn into maggots.

No, maggots do not bite, they do not have teeth. They do have modified mandibles though, called “mouthhooks,” and they have some rough bumps around their body which scratch and poke the dead tissue

Maggots/flies don't bite, but can lay several dozen per fly.
