Because he, Mcquire, Sosa and a host of others tainted the game. Its all thats talked about on ESPN, Sports talk Radio. Wouldn't it be nice if he was chasing the record with country behind him. Must see TV, well he took that from us with this cloud. He's a disgrace to the game. He can take comfort that he is not in that boat alone.

It's not a matter of hate, for the intelligent and mature people here, but just a flood of immature teenagers and children that don't know what they are talking about and just want to fuel the fire started by the media.

Barry may have taken both HGH and steroids, but it was legal when he did so. All he wanted to do was help his team out and try to win! Is there a crime in that?????

Steroids will not help anyone hit over 700 HR's, if anyone bothered to see what the side effects and ultimate damage to anyone's health is, if they took it regularly, which Barry did not.....

Let him do what he wants to do! Barry is an adult and does not need babysitters like most of the people answering here..... Barry is an outstanding athlete and deserves all the credit for the record he is about to pass.....

"Designer" steroids and HGH are impossible to detect in testing. Also, Barry Bonds is a pompous, self-important, hot dogging piece of crap (those jumps he does every single time he thinks he's hit a home run? Give me a BREAK!), and he has terrible sportsmanship. Hank Aaron is a beloved baseball legend. That's why everybody except San Fransisco fans and the idiots who still don't see steroids as cheating hate Barry Bonds.

I need to cut and paste this.

Ok, he admitted to taking something his trainer gave him, later identified as the cream and the clear.
When he tried to have his lawyers hugh the cronicle report, they did so on the notion that it contained grand jury testimony (which was obviously that he took steroids)

If he didn't take steroids, he would have threatened libel. But he would have had to proof the claim is false.

With all that, I don't hate him, I actually feel sorry for him that his moral strength isn't strong enough to see people cheating around him and not give in.

So when do you think Barry is going to break the record? I think when the Braves are in SF in a few weeks. Man, it's going to be special whenever that happens. Not every day you get to see history like that. Man, what a player!

cause these people are ignorant hater morons with nothing better to do than hate on Bonds.... perhaps they are dodger fans... perhaps they are trolls... and most of them are caught up in the witch hunt for steroid players and other immature non issue drama...

people need to realize... Bonds and Aaron both did it during expansion.... during expansion talent thins....

home runs were up during the 90's because teams had players drafted from their team to make other teams.. this thinned the talent... same thing in Hanks time.

there was a lack of dominate lefties.. bullpens were not deep.. pitching was down in general... home runs were up... 4 guys chasing Maris... unheard of!...

Bonds is breaking the record of records and some people don't want someone to break the record of records..

Absolutely, Bonds is the greatest player of all-time better than Henry Aaron i think people just like to find ways to hate Barry Bonds.

Hatred is irrational. Haters don't need a basis for hating; they just need an excuse. Allegations of steroid usage are MORE than enough for them.

(I do not doubt Bonds used steroids for some indeterminate window of time. I just don't think it made much difference to his gameplay. But that's an essay for another time.)

First I'll say Bonds is one of the best players ever to play the game.

I don't hate him, I dislike him as a person. He is a me, me, me guy.

Ty Cobb was a great player but from what I know of him, I don't care for.
