Hello,

I am not sure if you mean real proven conspiracies or real questionable ones like UFO's, Illuminati etc.

My favourite real conspiracy was the Gun Powder Plot in in Englan in 1605, That is the first one I heard of as a 5 year old child and instead of Halloween, Guy Fawkes Day in celebrated there with his dummy burned and fireworks set off. Here are the details:
The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 was a failed attempt by a group of provincial English Catholics to kill King James I of England, his family, and most of the Protestant aristocracy in a single attack by blowing up the Houses of Parliament during the State Opening. The conspirators had then planned to abduct the royal children, (who were Protestant) not present in Parliament, and incite a revolt in the Midlands.

"The Gunpowder Plot was one of many unsuccessful assassination attempts against James I, and followed the Main Plot and Bye Plot of 1603.

The aims of the conspirators are frequently compared to modern terrorists; however, this is an anachronistic application of a modern concept. The plotter's aims were nothing short of a total revolution in the government of England, which would have killed the King along with leading noblemen and led to the installation of a Catholic monarch. As such the plot was regarded as a treasonous act of attempted regicide. Far from helping their fellow Catholics avoid religious persecution, the plotters put many loyal Catholics in a difficult position.

Some popular historians [1] have put forward a debate about government involvement in the plot.

On 5 November each year, people in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries and regions including New Zealand, South Africa, much of the independent and dependent British West Indies, the Canadian island Newfoundland, and formerly Australia celebrate the failure of the plot on what is known as Guy Fawkes Night, Bonfire Night, Fireworks Night, Cracker Night or Plot Night; although the political meaning of the festival has grown to be very much secondary today. According to Esther Forbes, a biographer writes (Paul Revere & the World He Lived In, 1942), the Guy Fawkes Day celebration in the pre-revolution American Colonies, was a very popular holiday. In Boston however, the revelry took on anti-authority overtones and often became so dangerous that many would not venture to leave home."

As for others, un proven I like Roswell and the Illuminati.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

The "Titanic" -- that it wasn't actually the Titanic that sank, it was another ship made to look like the Titanic and they wanted it to sink on purpose but the iceberg got to it before they were supposed to set it on fire when other ships were nearby ready to rescue them. I just heard about that theory the other day and find it very amusing.

That the misinformed and misled extremists involved in 9/11 had anything to do with Iraq, nothing to do with Saudi Arabia, and managed to plan everything in secret without any collusion with American Intelligence services. Surely not.

My favourite conspiracy is the Christian/Jewish/Hindu/Muslim theory in the existence of God.

If there's one sure fire way of having freaking control over the minds and bodies of the people, it's got to be the invention of God. Obey God or be cast down into hell. Where else would us sinners rather go? There is no sex in heaven. Believe. It's just salad and warm watered beer. Down below it's red undercooked steaks, lots of fries and girls with red wine and booze thing.
