I think she is perfect as Aretha. She has that attitude in Dream Girls that Aretha has, and she can sing. Jennifer is also a good actress, and she looks like a younger, prettier version of Aretha. I don't know off hand of anyone else who should play that role, anyway.

Yes, that's a good idea! I thought Jennifer Hudson was fantastic in Dreamgirls and she has the voice to speak Aretha's songs.

OFOURSE SHE IS VERY WORTHY. PEOPLE ACTING LIKE THAT OSCAR DON'T MEAN NOTHING, BUT THAT PROVES A LOT....ESPECIALLY IN HER FIRST MOVIE.
