I have a HUGE conflict between my family and the landlord.
1st he sent a letter saying he wants to do a rental inspection because their are lawn clippings off to the side of our yard under the trees. NOT VISIBLE UNLESS YOU ARE ON OUR PROPERTY
2nd bad on our part we have pets (reptiles) when agreed to none. We have 2 turtles 4 lizards. (all in enclosures and are never out of enclosure)
3rd He has stepped foot on our property at least twice at our knowledge without permission or notice. Now the law here says he has to have 48 hour notice before being on this property. The first time he dug up a tree that was in the backyard. Didn't say anything befoer hand or even after he did it. (it was a dead tree) Then we did it on tuesday the 10th and took OUR hose that was hooked to OUR faucet and used it to water HIS plants (he owns a piece of land behind our house) Did NOT say anything before grabbing the hose or after (and it does cost money for our water we use)

He drives by the house (he lives about 2 cities away) about 3 times a week. Bending his neck around to spy on us. I feel harassed and very uncomfortable about this. (there is more information but this is the jist of it) let me know in your answer if you need more details) THANKS EVERYONE!

So the main question is:
is their anything we can do legally about him on our property? What about him always spying on us and driving by making the entire household uneasy and scared. I really am feeling like going to the police but is their anything they can actually do about it? What kind of evidence do I need? WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS GUY?!

I would just like to add that I looked up the laws and it says in bold that they must give 48 hour notice before entering the property. Which includes the land.

It sounds like someone needs to talk with him about the rules of renting and inspecting his property. Apaprently he's of the mind that since it's his property he can do what he wants (a lot of older people have that assumption). You might point out that you consider his acts an invasion of privacy and if it doesn't stop, you'll consult a lawyer. And you might think about relocating if he decides to evict you. Otherwise, you'll just have to tolerate the nosy man.

Depending on what state you live in, the 48 hour law means that he/she has to give you at least 48 hours notice before coming in the home you're renting. Your landlord has the right to make improvements to the outside of the property without notice, however, can not just come in your house at any time. You may also want to speak with an attorney in your area who deals with the rental laws in your state, especially if the landlord is using your water in which you're paying for. If you have pets when you agreed to none, this can be terms for eviction due to breach of contract. Speak with an attorney to find out what your rights are and what you can and can't do.

It sounds like he's overstepping his bounds, but then again, you broke your end of the agreement, too. He shouldn't have come on your property, but you have to admit, it's not like he broke into your house, he was just taking care of part of his property.
That being said, perhaps you should mention the notion that you dislike being watched. Creepy, but not illegal. If I disliked my tenants (for whatever reason) I might check up on my property, too.

what you should do is call the cops and say that he is stalking you and once they filethe police report you are automatically in the right if he pursues legal action against you only thing he can say is that you broke the lease by letting the pets in

Get drunk and tell him he is fired and that you would like to secede from his rule and appoint a new governing ruler of your chosing. This is covered under the 21st ammendment and you cannot be blamed for your drunken actions because the government repealed prohibition.
