Wow, this question is impossibly vague. All I can recommend is to either treat it as a mistake and not do that again or weigh the repercussions against the benefits. Sorry that’s all I can do with the limited information provided.

Realize that if we can life through the hardship, we will be better able to withstand hardships of the same magnitude so we will be less unhappy when we encounter them. We will also be better able to appreciate the good times when they roll around.

You learn more about yourself through hardship - for example, if I had never had my beliefs challenged through conflict with others that I am close to (something I consider a hardship), I would never have realized which things are truly important to me and which are not.
