Yes, I do. I come from the United States, and mainly the reason why I love this nation is because I come from a military family. We been in every war since the French and Indian War of the early 1700's. We served under the Swamp Fox in the American Revolutionary War. My great-great-great-great uncle was General Robert Edward Lee. My family fought for and defended this nation even to this very day. Most of my friends were in the Army fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. Unfortunately, I could not continue the legacy for myself as for a medical disability.

USA-I love the ideals our country was founded upon, but I don't like the way our country has headed. little do people realize that they trade their freedoms for "security" they want the government to take care of them. The government is not supposed to be as involved in our lives as it is.

i live in the US. ive been to other countries im not a citizen of that im prouder of. id like to explain why but i would be attacked for it.

you know what, i changed my mind. insurance in america sucks. if you dont have it, your screwed, bills are very expensive without it. even if you do have it, they get really nit picky sometimes and dont cover everything. other countries with health care systems take care of anything and everything, and no one gets billed. and before you say "i dont want to pay for everyone elses health care", the more people you have paying for something, the less it costs you, so its actually quite practical.
there are places in this country i am deathly afraid of because of crime rates. but ive been to other countries where its not uncommon to hitch a ride from a complete stranger because you can just trust everyone. crime is almost non existant in some of the countries ive been to.
i shouldnt be afraid to speak against my own country.
there is to much hopping on the bandwagon in this country. in terms of fashion, and stuff like that, we are way behind the times.
the us is regularly out performed in terms of schooling. speaking of schooling, in finland, college is free, all you have to pay for is books. its set up similar to the health care system. as a result, lots more kids actually go to college and finish it because they can afford to.
there are parts of this country im proud of. there is a lot to see and do in this country. but there are most definatly parts i am not proud of. ive been to other countries, and had the opportunity to stay in them and experience life like a citizen of that country would. as a result, i know how lots of countries opperate. i think we could learn a thing or two if we were open to accepting some of their ideas. they work in many other countries, and i dont see why they wouldnt work here. untill someone is willing to give them a shot though, we wont ever know. talk to kids from other countries once. they cant believe some of the stuff we have to deal with.
