I'm only asking because I can only find organic red palm oil intended for consumption. I was just wondering if it even makes a difference. Because I'll definately use it if not. Thanks guys!

Just adding so everyone knows, the red pigment is becuase of the caretenoids, which after heated to a certain temp will lose their color and carotene qualities.

It's usually more expensive. The red color is minimal for staining, especially as a soap ingredient.

If the oil is intended for consumption it is better quality than the palm oil sold for non consumption uses.
For make-up they use only consumption quality ingredients, so for soap it is a good idea too.
Organic production makes it better quality too, because it will make you feel better that for this oil nothing was harmed, and that it does not come from a source where they use a lot of chemicals.

Now about the colour, I am not sure about that.
If the colour stays on your hands it is not good in soap, but if the colour is weak it will not matter.

Hi,
Yes, red palm works just as good as the regular uncoloured palm.
The only difference is that you'll get a red bar of soap =)
