In her keynote speech Wednesday night, Betty Williams, Nobel Peace Prize winner, told a crowd of about 1,000 that the Bush administration has been treacherous and wrong and acted unconstitutionally.

"Right now, I could kill George Bush," she said. "No, I don't mean that. How could you nonviolently kill somebody? I would love to be able to do that."

About half the crowd gave her a standing ovation after she called for Mr. Bush's removal from power.

"The Muslim world right now is suffering beyond belief," she said.

Same reason as anybody I suppose. Frustration.

Peace-nicks are not consumed with violence. Frustration yes, violence no. I wish this country would wake up to the truth. Go watch some special interest documentaries. There are plenty that will give you both sides of issues. I saw the United States vs John Lennon the other night. There is something to be said for the power of the presidency (and guess what, its not all good) and the peace-nicks. Watch this and then tell me who is violent?

What's with the over generalization? One speach and all of a sudden peace-niks are so hateful and consumed. How dramatic. I don't blame Christians for the 4% who,as Dominionists, have forgotten all the love and compassion in the New Testament and opted for the wrath in the Old Testament.

I hardly think that Betty Williams is "consumed with wanting to do violence."

Last Wednesday night huh? Try last year. Oops my mistake, I was thinking of her earlier comments against Bush.

I think when people feel helpless they often feel like acting violent.

Even though peace-niks have a non-violent philosophy, it doesn't preclude them from having violent thoughts. Just hope they don't act on them.

Violent people are insecure and need to be "violent" to hide their inadequacies. Explains alot ~ doesn't it???
