Would I use a terminal-to-host, file server or client/server system?

2. Also explain which protocol and network switching device(s) you would use for the five computers on the LAN and for the wireless access.

3) In regards to cabling, whihc media type will be best suited for the project?

4) What telecommunication device should the coffee house purchase?

5) Which internet service type would suit Becca's customers best?


I am clueless when it comes to computers so any help would be great.

1) Well you wouldn't need to set up file servers or anything like that, unless if you are planning on charging for the use of the systems, etc. Windows XP would be fine here.


2) You would want need a switch that has a minimum of 5 ports for the computer, they typically come in powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, etc) any cisco or netgear would work fine. You would need an access point, and depending on the number of customers that you

3) Umm... there's only one Media type for your cabling you should use Cat 6, but Cat 5

4) Who gives a crap... if it's only for wireless and wired access

5) It's your preference, either DSL or Cable, but note if you ARE planning on selling time, then you need to ok it with them

First if your computers are not directly connected then you will need a router system that is meant to connect your PCs.
One Pc would have the Router the rest would have adapters to communicate with it.
