I asked this before, but now we're a bit further in the race
and a member of the group was on Colbert, O'reilly, and Countdown since then . (I'll ask this again later)

how do you feel about unity in 08?
do you think we could do it?
if you filled out a 'dream ticket' who did you choose?
do you think the best government could come from a mix of both sides?

for those not filmiliar with unity '08:

unity '08 wants to create a ticket that will have a president from one party and vice president from another.
this could be a Dem/GOP ticket or one of the major parties' candidate with a third party candidate.

“Lobbyists reported 393,000 hours of work from Jan. 1, 2005, through June 30 -- the equivalent of 372 eight-hour days for every state legislator.”
"Since 1998, 43 percent of the 198 members of Congress who left government to join private life have registered to lobby."
"74% of Americans are "dissatisfied" with the way things are going in this country."
"82% of Americans agree that "America has become so polarized between Democrats and Republicans that Washington can't seem to make progress solving the nation's problems."

-unity '08 wants to change these statistics

this is not about a central party. this is about mixing parties so we have the best of both worlds and stop being so divided. we are all americans even if we disagree, we can work together.
this also helps third parties.

this is a new thing, we know the president picks the running mate. but that could change. nothing is written in stone.

I have to find those who believe you are not going to have partisanship to be delusional. We have always had partisanship and always will. Its just part of a democratic government.

Unity 08 is nothing more than an attempt to form a center party in the United States under the guise of a national unity ticket. I am not convinced a center party could work because a clear ideological bond does not exist among people in the center. I wish there was a center party if it was fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Others want a party that is the opposite.

I do not think you would get a good government out of such a ticket automatically. Partisanship does not make our government not work, incompetency is the issue. Neither party is leaded by anyone that is competent. So logically following, wouldn't a Unity 08 ticket contain the incompetency of both parties?

Unity 08 is an attempt to form a center party without admitting it. I would be interested in a center party if it was fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

Elephants never forget, so let's remind Hillary Clinton of her past positions on Iraq and cure her memory loss.
On October 11, 2002, she cast her vote supporting the President's resolution to go to war. She said her vote was cast with the "conviction" that the war authorization "best serves the security of our nation."
Hillary also said that she rejected setting a timetable to withdraw from Iraq. Her exact words:
"I reject a rigid timetable that the terrorists can exploit, and I reject an open timetable that has no ending attached to it." (Associated Press, 12/3/05)
But in recent months and days, Hillary has voted against providing funds to support our troops and their safety. The legislation she voted against provided $1.6 billion for body armor, $2.4 billion to help combat IEDs, and $3 billion for mine resistant vehicles.
And now she is saying that "this is not our fight." She wants to withdraw.
The President and the Republican Party will not forget our commitment to protecting Americans at home and abroad. Neither should Hillary Clinton. Remind her of her past positions and her support of our troops by contacting her here:

I will never be for a one party system. This keeps the balance. I will never ever support a democrat as long as the socialist party has a choke hold on them. Sorry....can't do it. A person has to have standards and ethics to live with ones self.
