Check with your cable company. You most likely will be charged for a second ip address. The modem MAC address is what the cable company uses to 'Provision' your modem(s). Only one ip/MAC address per modem.

Yes, modems are modems> you can use them concurrently with different service providers. Why wouldnt it work?
