You can try doing exercises to improve your vision. I recently started doing eye exercises to try to improve my vision. I created a blog where I record my progress with the exercises.
My vision is 20/400, which is really poor.
Other people have posted comments about their experiences as well. You can check it out at:

Here are some articles with some useful tips:

And here is a good vitamin/nutrient supplement for your eyes:

Hope this helps...

some would say to eat carrots.... this doesn't work though! The only way that you can correct your eyesight is to invest in laser eye surgery. I am a strong believer that if you get eye glasses it messes up your eyes even more. I think this b/c when you were glasses for 20/40 vision you are committing your eyes to view objects around you at the 20/40 scale but, if you were to go with out eye glasses then, you are training your eyes to view objects that are in 20/20 view. After a while your eyes will become accustom to the view (20/20). That's my opinion though...

They say that eating carrots really does improve eyesight. The vitamin A content I think they said is responsible.
Other than that, I don't know what you can do besides wear corrective lenses or have eye surgery. And of course take care of your eyes (wear glasses when you need them, be sure to have adequate lighting when reading, wear sunglasses outdoors in bright light, protective safety glasses when working on projects, etc.).
Eyes really are portholes to the soul, aren't they?
(PS: Thanks, and see my comment on your last question.)

Believe it or not, but eating lots of carrots dose improve eyesight. However, nothing corrects near sightedness or farsightedness except corrective lens or surgery

There are eye exercises which are supposed to help. Also, regular viewing of Magic Eye (computer generated 3D art) is supposed to benefit your eyes. Vitamins--especially A and B2. None of this can do you any harm.

good nutrition is paramount, yearly eye checkups, wear glasses, contacts or get lasik. A lot of times vision problems are hereditary.

Corrective contact lenses. And laser eye surgery(don't perform this if you have dry eyes) Ask your eye doctor about that.
And the only other way is don't make them worse.
