I believe that people have the right to be who they want to be and that they will get what they have earned in the end. However, I find it MOST annoying the way the clearly gay men talk and act!
Our local news just hired a VERY gay man who reports out in the field. He is driving my friend and I nuts!
If The View does indeed hire this guy you are talking about, I will NEVER watch that show when he is on it!
I would like to think that long time fans of The View would protest and that The View's ratings would drop drastically. Unfortunately, for each person who stops watching it because of the gay guy, three gay men will start watching it because he's on there.
So, I guess we are just stuck with whatever Barbara and her buddies decide! Your mother may stop watching The View if they hire that guy! If she doesn't, and this guy bugs you as much as he bugs me, you're going to have to put on some earphones and listen to your favorite music or find something to keep you occupied during that hour!

Although I agree everyone is entitled to their opinion, its rather disheartening to hear so many of you not wanting this man on the show, BECAUSE he is gay. I have never watched the show, only seen clips here and there. I do agree with the speech a lot of gay men seem to have, but they seem harmless enough. I don't care for flamboyance on ANYONE, regardless of gender. Seems nowadays we're more focused on gays and their pursuit of equal rights I feel they are entitled as straight people. I don't think he will be forcing gay issues onto anyone. It seems like gays are target as the new "race" to hate.
ADDED:
I'm not bothered by getting a thumbs down from a homophobe. Get a life hater.

Oh I love Ross, he's great. It's just something to try I guess. They haven't found a good enough host to fill Star Jones' big old seat. Now that they're replacing Rosie Im sure ratings will go down.

If Ross leaves the Tonight Show, I won't have to endure watching him, because I'd not stoop so low as to watch The View.

haha I didn't know they wanted a gay guy on there. But it would add diversity. Apparently that's what they're looking for. As if 4 ladies giving you fashion advice isn't enough, let's through a gay guy in there. Mix it up a little. lol

Because it fits their audience better than having a lesbian woman, Rosie did not fit that show at all, though she brought in ratings she made it less "coffee talk" more "Countdown with Keith Oberman"

I do not care that he is gay. I care that he is a GUY. Isn't this supposed to be a womans show. Just cause he sleeps with a man doesn't make him a woman.

Maybe so they can have different views from a different crowd rather than just a few gossipy women or maybe so they can keep the show interesting.

I haven't watched the view, but having a gay guy in the mix would certainly add a different point-of-view (no pun intended.)
