Every time I go fill up at the local Arco, the gas always overflows out of the tank when I try to use the pump at full power. It doesn't appear to be blocked when I look inside. Why is this happening and what can I do(besides wait forever)? Its a 1970 Mustang

There should be an additional "vent hose" on your filler tube. It's either stopped up or has been plugged off on purpose. It lets the air inside the tank escape while you're filling it up. Otherwise, it "burps" out the filler tube.

maybe your just going to have to only use 3/4 pump on the handle and not hold it fully open, I really can't explain why it would do that unless your tank has air in it, check with the ford dealer and ask them if your tank is supposed to have a vented gas cap or a closed cap and if it's vented and you have a vented one on it maybe you should get a new one as the old one could be plugged.

replace the tank or your airline going into the tank might be blocked. air isnt coming out of the tank when you pump at full power thereby pushing the gas back towards you . check your lines going into the tank. i dont know whether you have two lines or one small line in the big line .

Check the hose between the fill tube and the tank for kinks or collapsing.
