The House of Representatives passed a bill demanding an end to the war in 120 days.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289153,00.html
What are these people doing!?! The president is sure to veto it, so basicaly they have passed a bill that does nothing but say we give up. How do these idiots expect the troops to react? They obviously don't care anything about the troops if they so thoughtlessly strike a blow against moral while accomplishing nothing. They are so worried about covering themselves infront of their misinformed districts. Why even pretend you support the troops while telling them, the Iraqis and the rest of our allies our government intends to sell them out. If our suck up government pulls out before giving the troops a chance(no non-conventional war has been won in 6 years, do some research) all we'll get is another generation of veterans who've had their victory stolen from them, about a million dead Iraqis, and a haven, training ground, and staging area for Al-Qaeda

i mean 4 years, not one has been one in less than a decade, although the Iraqis will probobly be able to take over before then.

the bill didn't reduce war spending or end the war, it was just an asinine nothing. I am not currently in Iraq because I am under age, if we are still at war I will enlist the second I become eligible.

There is literally no chance in hell that America is going to leave Iraq -- no matter what this "made for TV" crap is that you are seeing from Congress -- it is simply an appeasement
act to buy some time for the war to escalate into what they are ALL headed for --- war with IRAN !! Look at the multi-million dollar PERMINENT facilities that the USA is building IN Iraq as we speak !! None of this is being done because there may be a chance that we will be staying --- and I did say STAYING in Iraq ---- the USA NEVER LEAVES --- look at every place we've been in the last forever...... Germany, Japan, Korea, Bosnia------we never leave !!!!! That is one of the multitude of problems that we have --- we are the world police now ......and are stationed in every country that we have gone in to......"give independence to" !!!!! Absolutely amazing --- that we go in to give independence and next thing we know --- we have another dependant !!!!!!

We were told so many different things about this thing that it would take a archivist to run it all down --- and among the thousands of lies told to us was that this "thing" would never run over some 70 Billion dollars ---- we are now approaching ONE TRILLION and the thing is simply escalating on a monthly basis !!!!
They talk of leaving --- they waste their time with action meant to convey the IDEA that we are leaving --- but the actions within that country PROVE that there is NO SUCH THING IN THE WORKS --- they are feverishly building PERMINENT facilities there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, Democrat---- Republican --- it is ALL a farce --- we are in Iraq --- we will be there until the return of Christ --- and there is nothing but more of the same in the future --- because that is what we DO now --- take over countries to LIBERATE them from themselves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right. We should stay and try to beat our record on Vietnam. Give me a break. This isn't a war that can be one, and the democrats recognize this.

Indeed the president is sure to veto the bill. Thats true. But its important that they keep the issue up. The longer it is discussed, the more people who realize whats actually going on. If Bush folds under the pressure and lets it through, then everyone wins. (except maybe Haliburton and the Bush legacy)

The troops are being sold out? Their being saved. Even if some fools still believe that we shouldn't pull out of Iraq (and even think we should have gone their in the first place), it's not harming the troops at all. Its saving their lives. In a few decades it'll be clear that the war couldn't have ended sooner(of course depending on when the war actually ends). The longer the war goes on now, the more people will have to grieve for the lives lost in Iraq.

Also, be realistic. The Republicans aren't going to come out on top in 2008. If the troops don't begin pulling out in 2007, then they'll begin in 2008. Might as well spare the lives of the 1000 or so soldiers who will die between now and then,

Also let me remind you what war caused (and gave a reason for) Al-Qaeda to enter Iraq. (Hint: It started in 2003)

By the way, try using a reliable news source. You might just open your eyes.

THis is a &%^&$ pointless war all we're doing is sending our troops over there to stand infront of and on top of insurgents bullets and mines. Seriously what was Bush thinking when HE STARTED the war against Iraq. Can anyone give me a good reason we're there ( other than oil Bush is and has been in league with big oil.) Dont tell me Saddams WMD's either anyone with 1/2 a brain cell knows there where not tankers upon tankers and huge bunkers full of bio-weapons nor did they have nuclear capabilities, and IF they did STF what they couldnt strike us anyway. And I would put money that Saddam wasnt giving "the terrorists" aid. Defending 9/11 doesnt make sence either Iraq had nothing to do with it, in fact looking at 9/11 I start thinking I'm looking at the Reichstag building.. I would really love to see more military and military families respond to these posts. If your not or havent been in the military how do you think you can even start to understand what our servicemen go through or how they think.

We should leave Iraq as soon as possible. It seems that there were three reasons we were given for going into Iraq, we have accomplished all of them:

1. Find and destroy weapons of mass destruction.
>>>There were not Weapons, and all infrastructure to create new weapons have been destroyed

2. Depose Saddam Hussein.
>>He is now dead.

3. Free the Iraqi people and allow them to create their own government.
>>They have had multiple elections and now have their own government.

The fact that the government that Iraq has setup doesn't work well, isn't our issue. They are in the middle of a centuries old civil war, which we will never be able to help them solve.

The Democrats are right to put that bill forward.

The Iraqis are performing pathetically and seem to be ok with waging sectarian warfare against each other. Why should we stay if the Iraqis seem to care less?

The "progress report" released within the last few days sealed the deal for me. Getting 8 out of 18 correct is a failure no matter how you cut it. That is 44% success rate. Failure no matter how you cut it.

Since the Iraqis do not care, we should not care.

Have you ever heard the phrase "beating a dead horse"?

Well, Bush is beating a dead horse when it comes to the Iraq war. We've lost. There comes a time when you need to look in the mirror, face facts and move on. The only thing we are doing right now by remaining in that country is getting soldiers killed. Don't you think that by remaining in Iraq, we are the root cause of the violence? I bet if we leave, the violence will go down DRAMATICALLY!

It is time to close the book on the Iraq war. A majority of the US citizens feel that way. Bush can veto what he likes - I bet they have enough votes NOW to over ride it. Wouldn't surprise me if they make Bush end his clusterfuck of a war, instead of passing it onto the next administration. Too bad, Georgie!

Ben don't let these "if you like war, why don't you sign up?" people bother you. They do it all of the time because they THINK they are being clever. You are right the politicians who support pull out DO NOT support the troops! I don't care what they say. What they should be doing is sending them whatever they need and getting rid of the silly restrictions they have imposed. Keep staying informed, if we hope to have any future at all as a country we need young people who care, like you! Stay strong!

They are thinking that 4 years of recruiting members and raising funds for AQ is enough.
They are also thinking that Republicans have worn out the hypocritical, illogical "you should support our troops" argument. Guess they may have been wrong on that one.

I guess they're thinking we'd do better leaving Iraq than staying. And that we should stop wasting money and losing lives. And that we should stop propogating the worst foreign policy blunder in United States history.

They are thinking that only 26% of Americans want us to stay in Iraq. They are thinking if they don't shut down our ignorant president, they will never win reelection. Even the Republicans in congress, in case you haven't noticed are realizing what an idiot our president is and how wrong he is
