No, DDR2 is different--DDR is for older computers and the stick won't fit--I just had the same problem with my laptop. So I got a 1G DDR stick and it works great. It's easy to replace, just pop out and put the new one in. The more RAM, the better, and faster.
But DDR and DDR2 are totally different.

DDR2 memory stick will not physically fit in a DDR slot.
Memory need is based on programs you use and operating system.
Windows 2000 - 256+
Windows XP - 512+
Windows Vista - 1.5GB+
Check your task manager for how much memory you are using at typical load. Make sure you have more memory installed then it shows.

No. It depends on the memory slots of your motherboard. If it is only DDR compatible, then you can only install DDR memory, same thing with DDR2, you can only use DDR2 but not DDR

ddr is 168 pins, ddr2 is 200 pins. they are incompatiable. however ddr memory is uber cheap. you can get a 1 gig of ram for under 100 bucks. check out newegg, zipzoomfly, or tigerdirect for the best deals.

Nope, it won't fit. DDR has 184 pins, ddr2 has 240 pins. 512Mb would be decent to run XP but 1Gb is optimum.

No you can ... but 128 mb is definitly not enough by todays standard. You dont need to switch to DDR2, but it would be a good thing to get at leat 512mb of DDR.
