I mean don't get me wrong, I love all the points too! But what is it exactly that we're accomplishing? Why are we so driven to get these meaningless points? Its starting to feel like its not bout helping ppl ans their questions but more bout getting those two points.....what do you think?

Some might only want to get the points but only because they want to get to the certain level where there's no limit to the number of questions they can answer!
But I personally think that most of the answerers here are genuine and want to help people in the quest for answers :)

I really dont care about the points to be honest with you. all they prove is that the person with the most has absolutely no life what so ever. I mean they dont even deserve the right to have braging rights. I mean really whos gonna go aroung braging about how many points they have on yahoo Answers. I just go on here to try to help people out with the questions they ask, when I do I feel like ive done a good deed for the day. it makes me feel good to know that I was ablw to help them in there time of need.

It is all about helping people and having a little fun along the way. It is not about the points. As you will see, I ask a lot of questions because I think that is more fun!

i think other categories are more into helping. how can a poll or survey help you? this section is more for fun.
as far as the points, i wanted to get to level 5 so i could have unlimited questions and answers. i have that now so i don't care about points anymore.

The more points I get, the more questions I can answer! Being on here sure beats the alternative (staring at a tree all afternoon!).

It is for being able to star questions and give ratings and ask more questions. But it is weird. I mean, its not that great of an advantage though... Now I think about it and agree.

not everyone is on here for points...I think some do get to be obessed with it because they don't have anything else to do in their life
