I saw a duck trying to eat a fish but it was having difficulty because the fish was about 6 inches long.

There are many different types of ducks: filter feeders which siphon algae from the water,dabbling duck which eat insects, mollucks, seeds and water plants and diving ducks such as mergansers which eat large fish but rarely waddle up on land.

For some ducks, yes. There are three types of ducks, the surface feeders or puddle ducks, the diving ducks and the fish-eating ducks. Mergansers are the commonest of the fish-eating ducks.

From what I learned the hard way, ducks love fish. I had a bucket of live bait, my neighbor had two free ranging pekin ducks. the ducks have my bait.

The ducks we know are basically vegetarian, but similar species living near the ocean do plunge and swim underwater to catch fishes.

Hopefully it was one of those fish eating ducks, not a vegetarian one.

HAVEN'T YOU SEEN A DUCK IN A RIVER OR LAKE? THEY TRY TO EAT FISH BY DIVING UNDER WATER........ I GUESS WILD ANIMALS CANT BE PICKY WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD...
