Why can't courts use logic?

This case is not the court's fault. The fault lies with the legislature, which passed a bad law. The law says that you must contest paternity in a certain amount of time, period. Those kind of laws always result in injustices, but for some reason legislatures keep passing them. All the court did was to apply the law, which it is required to do.

The fault also lies with the child's mother, who at some point identified him as the father. I wonder if the man might not have some way to sue the mother to recover his expenses, since her lie started the whole process (never mind that she's now telling the truth -- I'm guessing that the state is taking all of the child support for Medicaid, etc., and she's not getting the benefit of it any more).

Yeah, it's strange, but the way the courts look at it is: Someone needs to take responsibility for caring for this child. The kid doesn't know who it's father was, and we can't say go ahead and abandon it on the basis of a genetic test. So in trying to balance the rights of the man and the child, the choose the child, as it is more vulnerable and has fewer options. You may not agree, but it does have a certain logic.

because most modern judges & liars oops, I mean lawyers are educated in a liberal environment. They really don't care who's paying the bills as long as they can keep throwing out the welfare!!! How can a court use logic when they use latin to communicate with each other!!!!
