also for everyone who thinks Texas is all flat and desert, you're wrong!!!!

#1: mountains are located close to El Paso
#2 right now we have too much rain and Louisiana which is always wet is having a drought
#3 East Texas is ALL green and trees and rolling hills and ponds....
#4 Flower Mound has one area that has shops and stuff like that, but they don't have a mall and stuff, and a lot of it is super pretty mounds of bright colored flowers and it's green with rolling hills and valleys, so don't tell me it's all desert, i don't care if you HATE Texas and that, but don't give me the "it's all desert reason"......ok well now that i am done venting.....thanks....and i'm not mad, i'm just stating the facts..... : ] thank you!!

not everywhere in Texas has tons of crime, but thank you for your input and i'm glad that you think i'm an ignorant redneck...

my least favorite is Arizona just for this simple reason:

It messes with my allergies really really bad, and gives me alot of allergic reactions, i don't know why but it's the only state that ever did that to me. I have nothing against the people and it's pleasant and there are some neat natural land formations to see...

Texas is my least favorite state because it is flat, boring, has tons of crime, the weather is horrible, some of the people are backwards rednecks and ignorant as hell.

My favorite is California because it has the most diverse geograpghy and climate of any state, the most progressive laws that other states always end up adopting like, especially our envirnonmental laws, and it has the best weather in the nation and all different types of climates too. It is one of the most beautiful states from the Redwood Forests, to the mountains, deserts, and all the great cities. And it has some of the most open minded and progressive people in this country not to mention we are the world's 7th largest economy by ourselves and supply much of the nation's food.

edit: Why the hell did you even ask this question if you were going to get all defensive if someone picked the state you live in? And maybe you need to read a little closer, I said SOME people in TX are ignorant rednecks, not all. And no one in here called it a desert, did you just make that up?Whatever though, typical texan; huge ego and no substance.

Hey, you have my name!

Sadly, I have a deep and irrational hate for alot of states and I hope I dont offend anyone.

Alabama- Still crying over being on the losing side of the civil war as they fly the confederate flag.

Texas- huge egos make up for very tiny other parts

West Virginia- No life guard in the gene pool

Oklahoma- Their biggest accomplishment is red dirt.

Kentucky- Seriously, other than the Derby does anything ever happen in Kentucky?

Arkansas- See West Virginia. BTW, since Kansas is pronounced like "Kansas", shouldn't Arkansas be pronounced the same or the spelling changed to Arkansaw?

Yes, I have been to these places and that is how I came to these conclusions on why they suck.

Now, for the ones I like:

Colorado- My home state, better mountians than anywhere else in the country (you Appalachians call those things mountains??) and mild seasons with 300+ days of sunshine a year.

New England- (I know this is not one state) History of our country, beautiful buildings, fall foliage, and the Patriots.

California- I can't say I would want to live there but its such a unique experience with all the different people and cultures. Plus, a beach and mountain combo.

Good Question and once again, I hope no one is offended. Its just an opinion.

There is not one state in America that I have not been to. And, I have been throughout the Carribbean and Europe as well. There is something positive and negative to find if you put any place under the microscope. I have met some real "winners" in California (hack, hack), and my son lived in Colorado, freak it can get cold there. Brrr. Where in the world is that statistic about 300+ sunshine days? It is beautiful, but please, the Appalacian mountains are so much older and have so many more trees! Of course it's worn down more, they are older, hello!

I choose to live in Texas as well. Mostly, because this is where my family is. Texas is so diverse. It has 3 of the top 10 most populous cities in the nation with Cosmopolitan Dallas, Refined Houston and Tex-Mex San Antonio which is where I call, my small town attitude big city style, home. San Antonio is the 2nd fastest growing city in the nation. Phoenix is #1. I like Phoenix. Hot and expensive, but the people are very pleasant. San Antonians have very giving hearts. People don't like the East side, but I work there. Great people live there too. Just very poor people. I received my grad degree from the West Side. Poor, poor people, very kind and generous. There is violence at night when they get drunk. Poor things what else do they have to do? They try to bury their problems. The Northside is growing tremendously and were listed in the top 100 schools in the nation to attend. (Time magazine) The southside has some of the best tex mex I have ever eaten. We are so friendly.

It's not flat here, we are at the bottom of the hill country, but we have many old quarries that we have made into shopping centers, golf courses, parks, a zoo, theater complex and more. It is one of the most historic cities in the united states and the only state that asked to be a part of the USA and so we get to fly our flag at the same station as the USA whereas the other states have to fly them lower. No wonder we have egos, and yet it's probably because we are growing very fast from all the yankees and california folk who are buying up our properties like crazy and coming over to live here because of the climate which statistically has over 260 days of sunshine on average with a means of 78 degrees.(travel channel)

Since we are south centrally located it doesn't take much to drive to the beautiful coastal plains where we have the only natural barrier island in America. You can actually drive right on the beach and there are tons of Spring Breakers who come here from all over the world every year.

We have a hill country area in the smack dap center. These are not mountains, no, but soft rolling hills with very breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.

We have our desert areas which are way cool to camp at especially if you happen to know someone who owns land in the middle of nowhere, and on the western edge of this fantastic state, we do have the Davis Mountains which do come off of the Rockies.

We also have the Texas Panhandle which has some magnificient rock formations including the lighthouse named after it's shape. I can't forget the east with it's piney woods and many lakes. And a trip to Texas would not be complete without coming to Bandera, cowboy capital of Texas.

Not everyone has college degrees in Texas, but you are sure to find a smile where ever you go and a helping hand and finally last but not least in case you are wondering, Texas claims more millionares than any other state and that is percentage wise to total population (the travel channel).

What's not to like about this wonderful state if you just stay awhile and get to know our people. Oh, and by the way, the whole of the USA was ripped of in wars as was almost every country in the world by one group of people or another so forget the Texas and Mexican land war. Even Mexico was stolen by Europe.

Texas. It's a whole other country. America. Home of the free and the brave. Aren't we a fortunate bunch? We can even vote Bush out of office in a few years and he'll be back to his ranch and out of everyone's hair who hates him. Honestly he's a nice guy. Just a bad president. I wonder though how much better anyone else would have done under these circumstances.

Oh, yeah...I'm not hispanic or latino or chicano. I have many friends who are and a child who is half and my parents are from Eastern Europe where they escaped a war themselves, so I really appreciate America. Adios! Tschuess!

Of course, my favorite is SC cause that's where I live! It's a very historical state with all sorts of awesome scenery. From mountains to beaches. It's beautiful! My least favorite state would have to be Georgia. For the simple fact that the people over there can't drive! :)

I love Texas (since I live there, and Texans take politeness and hospitality seriously)...

But my favorite state is...

Northern California...(NOT Southern California...there's a difference)

Northern California has Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, The Wine Country, clean rivers, The Redwoods, extremely potent maryjane, four seasons, trees that change colors, and incredible cliff-side ocean views...

For now, anyway...

My favorite is Utah. It has the most diverse geography of all the States. It had high mountains, large forests, deserts, salt flats, pink and red rocks of the canyon lands, arches and rock formations, lakes rivers, it just has it all. My least favorite would be Massachusetts because of the people.

My favorite has to be Wyoming. I love Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. There is so much to do and see. The scenery, geysers, and wildlife. The grand Tetons are the perfect picture and Jackson is the classic western town.

My least favorite state has to be New York since that's where the Yankees are from.(I'm from MA and a die hard sox fan)

To Beeg Juan: So ... Texas will be taken over by Mexicans? So you can make it the same shithol* as Mexico? As a Hispanic and immigrant myself ... someone should stick a taco up your but* and deport you back to your country.

I haven't traveled to many states by I'll mention a few places that I have loved:

New York (Manhattan) - Full of interesting people. Love the active and fast-paced lifestyle. Bohemian ... lots of museums and artistic venues.

Tennessee - Beautiful scenery!

Florida - Love the weather and its beaches.

Washington DC (Historic Center) - Lots of history. Great museums and beautiful monuments! Very clean.

I think most states have good and bad points. Oregon was my favorite state to live in. The weather is great...beaches clean and beautiful...you can see mountains and forests...I just loved it.

I did NOT like California. Granted, there are MUCH more beautiful areas of California than I was in, but I thought the people were a whole different breed. They seem so much colder to each other than in other places I've lived (and I've lived in quite a few).

I have been to all 50 states and still traveling to many of them. Travel is a passion of mine....nice to have someone be with me though which i don't at this time.

My favorite is the state i am in at any particular moment. Each state has many interesting people and places.

My least favorite is Hawaii because it is so far away and hard to get to. Want to go back again.
