They know a lot actually. Probably more than you. They aren't god so they can't know everything but they sure know a lot, so my answer to the question would have to be: No. America has one of the best if not the best counter intelligence in the world. There have been a lot of terrorist acts thwarted over the years due to the intelligence efforts of America and our allied nations.

I believe it (US Intellegence) still exists. It's just not getting used much as Bush relies of Chertoff's gut to plan strategy. That means we're a good philly cheesesteak with extra onions and whizz away from nuclear holocaust. Better keep your duct tape handy...
