Obviously it depends on the cars' overall conditions, but I used to own a Pontiac Sunfire and it was a total piece of crap! Personally, I would go with the Honda. My mother-in-law drove her Civic until it had over 550,000 miles on it, with minimal need for repairs. She only got rid of it because her boyfriend bought her a new one! Those things last forever.

I would take the Honda due to the excellent quality and better resale value. This assumes both cars are in similar condition. One thing to check, the Honda needs a timing belt change either at 60,0000 or 90,000 miles, depending on the model year. If this can't be proven, make sure it is changed before it is purchased. Good luck!

A lot depends on individual condition of the two.....
But, on the average, I'd expect both to have the same number of 'good` miles left in them, the Honda maybe a litle more, and the Honda will get better mileage.
(Gas prices ain't goin down y'know.)
DO have a mechanic check it out though.

I would pick a Honda over any american car with TWICE the miles any time! Honda just has a better reliability record.
