2 times a week. Make sure you space it out as evenly as possible, I would moisten the soil. As this tree gets older it becomes hardy. It can be planted outside and with stand low temps even down into the low low 10 and 20 degrees. Be careful with them, you do not want to freeze the roots, it will die!!! It will also take more water. Make sure you fertilize it as well, As a rule of thumb i usually water mine 2-3 times a year.

Go to the hardware storing gardening section and buy a moisture meter. They cost about 5 bucks and tell you instantly the moisture level in the soil. Takes all the guess work out of watering. Just stick the probe in the soil and read the meter.

try watering it every two days and every day feel the soil. The soil should not be really dry, if it is water it and eventually you can tell exactly how often it needs water.
