Could geographical expansion help cure immigration and economic problems?

In order for a capitalistic democracy to thrive, it needs new markets, and new areas in which to expand and develop.

Mexico needs to improve its economy and provide jobs for its people.

America needs to invest its capital wisely, and it needs a dedicated workforce to help it grow.

Could this be a match made in heaven?

It is quite apparent that the USA is now in a potential death spiral. The golden years are long gone. The damage done to our country by class polarization, dependance on welfare and subsidies, political corruption so endemic that we have no sense of American identity. We need a total moratorium on all immigration for 5 years, and a different system of taxation, clarification of who is our friend and who is not. The decay of America has been accelerated by groups so stupid that they deflect attention from the true issues. It is not even remotely possible to expect America to recover to its past golden years, without a significant cost. I have posted several replies to other similiar questions and the questions usually hinted at the type of answer desired and the truth is not flexible . Unfortunately most of the questions on such a critical issue....are asked by children..We live in a world of the "haves" and the "have nots".........the only thing keeping peace now is the presence of weapons and power. The shift has started in the power balance......India and China have both displaced the USA in key areas.......unless we are willing to undergo a type of "isolation", the USA can not recover without removing and neutralizing the upper 2 % of wealthy Americans and corporations. Changing our sense of fair and unfair.....as it applies to Christian values.....not as it applies to money and greed. The lessons of the past have not been remembered, we are making the same mistakes again....only this time we dont have the resources to recover. The true spirit of America will live on, even if America the country falls apart. We need to stand up and be proud to be American and not give a damn what other countries think. We need to start taking care of our own.........we owe it to America

Never! How about losing your country, language culture. Mexico does need to improve it's economy and provide jobs but it will do it at it's own pace, in it's own time. The only thing holding that country back is it's politicians and until the people recognize this and take action things will continue the same. Until then these two countries need to find a smarter way to work together because they do need one another.

Heck NO. Mexico is a dirty and corrupt country. they need to fix their economic problems on their own. I don't see why they can't. That's less of course all their had working people are over here in America. And it seems like they are. We need to build a wall to secure America and keep Illegals out. Then, figure out what we are going to do with those who are here. In the meantime, Mexico needs to shape up their country so their people aren't so inclined to risk their lives sneaking over here. American's need to wake up and stop exploiting cheap immigrant labor.

No, It won't happen and shouldn't. First, the Mexican elite are corrupt and would stand to lose thier power if laws were enforced more equally as in the US. Second, America would go broke almost instantly. We could not afford the social services the Mexican people would need (welfare unemployment, medicare, social security)because they currently have nothing.. We could not afford to fix thier infrastructure either. The roads, sewars, power grids, dumps, etc would cost us more than we could afford to spend well before we ever made a dollar from the added economy.

The Mexican government is even bigger than the American government. Bureaucrats represent 30% of the work force. They'll convert to Islam before loosing their power over the Mexican people.

mexico would consider becoming part of the USA but the USA would not consider becoming part of mexico or have mexico be part of the USA. I would be very upset if mexico became a part of this country.

SSHHHH!

Don't look ahead too far. Stay with the "GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT AND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IT IS DOING!" crowd. Best not to understand government to well.

You might come to appreciate the U.S. elected representatives for what they really do for us.

Smart people sometimes reveal too much.
