I just purchased an item on ebay through Paypal, and now the seller wants to back out of the deal. He's asking for my email address through Paypal. I'm worried he might spam me, just to get back at me. Is there any way to get my money back?

Your email address is your Paypal user ID. So to properly send the payment through Paypal back to you, they need your email address.

It's similar to you paying for the item through Paypal. You send it to the email addy they are using as their Paypal ID.

I think you contact Paypal directly. That's what paypal is there for. To resolve issues like this

Why is the seller backing out. Why would he spam you.

I suggest contacting paypal and see what they say.

If you paid the seller with PayPal, he already has your e-mail address, there is no reason to give it to him a second time. The seller simply clicks "Refund" on the PayPal website and you are then issued a refund. I don't think it will harm you to give him your e-mail address, but it really isn't necessary to do so.

Ebay have procedures to do this. Check them out before you do anything else, otherwise you are not covered by Paypal if seller does not refund money.
