Or do I have to get a special mother board to install such processor?

It will fit any AM2 socket but not all motherboard BIOS may support it. More recent motherboards will most likely support it. Many motherboards with 2006 or earlier BIOS may not support it since X2 6000+ only came out last February.

www.amd.com...if you r going to build a machine like that,i would strongly suggest asking those that know,not those that guess or have more smart-*** answers than they do right ones...i run that processor on my rig and i can tell you this...every single motherboard is an AM2 socket,but...after that,it is all entirely what you want that dictates what you will have to use as far as who makes the motherboard,what chipset you need which determines what graphics card you can use and so forth and so on...go to the website and save urself uneeded headaches!!good luck!!

yes it will work with any AM2 socket motherboard
EDIT: to the person above me duh thats what AM2 means there are no single core am2 processor's
