im such a nerd: they were invented in 1759. they are made of graphite, carbon, clay and water. the clay makes them HARD and the graphite makes them SOFT. then they mix up the two to end up with JUST RIGHT. then they BAKE them and wrap with WOOD for our pleasure to use them

they are made out of lead,have a wood casing around it that is painted and has an eraser that has a metal band around it and usually some printed words.

they are lead, surrounded by wood, You should never run, with one and, most importantly, without an eraser, they are practically worthless.
