when someone is traumatized so much that they jst sit their and stare at space and become so unaware of their surroundings?and their completely silent

I would say he/she is in "shock"!

This can be part of an illness called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The only way to know for sure is to see the dr for further evaluation to see what they think is going on.

Yes, it sounds like shock - don't know the medical term but with lots of help and love the person should be ok
