The outcome is usually pretty awful, but it depends. Some people have affairs, never get caught and the spouse is none the wiser. I know many who have gotten away with it - which is amazing - (that it is so commonplace anymore.) In my case, I owned up to it, so did my husband, and we went through counseling to stay together. Was it fun, wild, crazy and romantic while it lasted? You bet. Was it worth it? Nope. I almost lost everything. Everyone has a different perspective on this, though.

An affair typically starts just for the physical aspect, but someone's emotions always get involved...either the two people in the affair or their significant others. Marriage is a sacred vow, and if it means anything to you, then you will not cross the line. It is normal to flirt and feel something every now and then, but what you do with those feelings is the answer to what you are really made of. There is no good outcome if some has an extramarital affair...EVER! After all, it may be the best sex you ever had at that moment, but is it worth losing the person that you, at least at one point, thought that you would spend the rest of your life with? The grass is always greener on the other side...

bad bad bad! I have never been cheated on by a serious boyfriend nor have I cheated. Mostly because my mom was in a 10 year affair. She left my dad for this man and of corse he never left his wife (which by the way, he married after leaving his first wife for her). The point is, you are lieing to the person who you are supposed to love. You are basicly calling them stupid by saying 'look, I can sleep around and you have no clue.' I have no respect for anyone who cheats and I would not get involved with anyone I thought was in a relationship. It's mean, it's wrong, it's decieveing, it's dirty. I'm a big old ****. I've slept with 4 diffrent guys so far this month and it's what, um the 20th. But I make damn sure none of them have wives/girlfriends before I make my move. Cheaters are 100 times worse than sluts. They are lieing to their loved ones, themselves, and hurting the other person who is just an innocent bystandard.

I myself, no experience, but for being there for friends and such, its not something I could ever do, much less be the one it was done to, The outcome is too hurtful, Ive seen too many people involved with their lives devastated. Become single if your having thoughts of having an affair.

Heartache and pain that is what comes out of an affair the majority of the time. You start off thinking that it is an innocent fling then bam, someone gets caught up (fall in love) and the simple fling becomes a nightmare. Covering up becomes difficult and the lies just grow and grow. Take it from me it is not worth it.

Men and women see it totally differently in my experience. To put it bluntly a guy is just "emptying his sack" and he will continue doing it while the female will put up with it or she starts with the whining and bitching that he is getting at home already, which is probably why he is with her in the first place.
The female on the other hand invariably wants the guy for their own and will do anything she can to achieve it, including calling the wife on the phone and telling her everything.
Forget the affair just go with a one night stand they are less demanding.

Lost a wife of 20 years, the respect of my children, and every single possession I owned including a successful business. Oh, and did I mention self respect?

There is nothing quite like the thrill of the "run around" it is a lot of fun and you have to watch out to make sure no one sees you or you get caught. Although the other spouse is left at home with the kids wondering what you are doing.......everyone gets caught sooner or later......remember that......oh the sex is the best you will ever have.....but, is your marriage worth it????????
