my computer has 3 pci slots what one do i put my video card in

In any of the three where there would be no physical obstruction in the PC case. BUT if you have a real graphics port in there (AGP or PCIe) better buy the appropriate card for it. PCI bus is SLOW for 3D graphics acceleration (games).

in most cases you can put it in either.. however.. I would see which one is considered 1st on the schematics... it take less time and resources to reach the important parts of the motherboard so to speak.. how much less? I've never noticed a difference.. it might be theoretical.. 8- )

One thing to consider is what else is going in there? and is there room physically to put them in an particular order.. I.E. I had a great video card once.. but it had a fan.. so it was necessary to put it in the last slight facing the fan away from the other cards.. ** it was to thick and blocked the other slots**
