does anyone make any real money from working at home or is all those tv commercials just a waste? because iv told my dad he could make make money from one of those programs off the tv but i dont think he takes me seriously and if they do work why dont more people do it if all your doing is sitting at a computer making way more in a week than in 2 months?.

They are all essentially scams. They have you send them money for some startup kit and then you find that nobody buys the product that you make. On a few occasions, they will do some initial buying only to get you to purchase the next phase of the process and then they leave you high and dry. They have your money and you have nothing.

There are many jobs that you can do working from home, however the bulk of those advertisements are a scam.
Consulting, web design, desktop publishing, nannying, academic/music lessons, programming.... Lots of jobs can be done from home.
You answered your own question, though... If it were as good as it sounded in the ads, everyone WOULD be doing it. Beware of scams.
